Jonny Mac Walk Off home run Buck-gasm
On April 23rd, 2011, John MacDonald hit a walk off home run against Adam Russell and the Tampa Bay Rays. Buck Martinez made a weird call and it was awesome! This ball is GONEahhhGONEEEEEE… OUTTAAAA HERE! View the video below:
Bautista Has Tied It Up… Maybe Not
On April 27th, 2011, during the top of the 4th in Texas in a 3-6 Texas lead with runners on 1st and 2nd against Derek Holland, Jose Bautista hit a double to the left center over Nelson Cruz’s head. Two came into score and Buck Martinez said that Bautista has tied it up…. But if you do the math, the Blue Jays are down by 1 run 5-6 View the video below:
Abraham Cibia Jumps On The First Pitch…
In the Bronx on May 23rd, 2011, J.P. Arencibia was up to bat against Bartolo Colon in the top of the 6th. He swung on the first pitcher and hit a double to center. The only problem was Buck Martinez called him Abraham Cibia! View the video below:
2 Home Run… 2 Run Homer By Bautista. Number 28.
During a 3-0 game in the top of the 9th vs. Boston on July 5th at Fenway, Jonathan Papelbon came in for the save and gave up a 2 run homer to Jose Bautista. Buck Martinez said that Bautista had hit 2 home runs in that game, but corrected himself right away! He also did this a few games after with Travis Snider. This Buck Blunder got the second most contributions, besides the next one. View the video below.
During the game vs. the Seattle Mariners on July 20th, 2011, Buck Martinez combined Travis Snider and Eric Thames to form, Travis Thames! This Buck Blunder netted 19 contributions and blew up my twitter feed (not as badly when Dan Johnson hit that home run to tie the game vs. the Yankees in game 162). Travis Thames did not go viral however and there is no video to back it up cause it wasn’t on a play of importance.
First and foremost, I would like to thank all the @buckblunders followers this year and all the contributions Without you guys and gals, there would be no www.buckblunders.com
So I had some time on the weekend to calculate the stats of all the Buck Blunders we found this year (note that there are probably more Buck Blunders that we did not pick up, especially the first 11 games, since I started this site late). I don’t have stats on how many times Buck did a specific blunder So without further ado, below you will find all the stats that I’ve gathered, because baseball is indeed a stats game
