Buck Blunder 1 – It has been confirmed that Buck Martinez has a serious Man Crush on Bryan Adams. He cannot get Ryan Adams name right! (Contributed by @onebluejaysway, @FairlyOrdinary, and @alittlehghas)

Buck Blunder 2 – Buck Martinez said that Jose Bautista hit a ball to 1st base, when he hit it to third. (Contributed by @PdashOW and @Thebathtowel)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez said that Adam Lind got robbed of a home run yesterday, when that was Eric Thames. Tonight, Lind was the one who got robbed. OUCH! (Contributed by @PdashOW and @jordangeville)

Buck Blunder 4 – Buck Martinez said that Kelly Johnson’s HR was hit to a Blue Jays fan, but if you look at the MLB video above, a fan caught it and passed it to the Blue Jays fan who was wearing the Bautista Jersey. We don’t know if that fan who got it was a Blue Jays fan or not.

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez said that the score was 13-6, when it’s 13-0. Then he said the Blue Jays had 16 hits. (Contributed by @onebluejaysway, @GuzmansJhercurl, @NikiFenix, @fukingconky, @eggshmeg, and @alittlehghas )

Buck Blunder 6 – Buck Martinez said that Joe West called Matt Angle out, but it was safe… Weird! (Contributed by @_skennedy, @BraedMcCarthy, and @alittlehghas)

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez said that Jose Bautista was tied with Curtis Granderson for the “league” in the American League. I think he meant lead. (Contributed by @jordangeville)

Buck Blunder 2 – Buck Martinez called Adam Lind, Kelly Johnson. (Contributed by @NikiFenix)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez mixed up the umpiring crew’s positions as he said Bill Welke was at 1st, but it was Fairchild. (Contributed by @PdashOW)

Buck Blunder 4 – (Non Baseball related Blunder). Buck Martinez said that if you wanted to be a QB above college, you have to be over 6″6′… But guys like Favre and Brady are not even close to that height. (Contributed by @LFri45 and @JobuJays)

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez said Eric Thames just missed a home run yesterday, but it was just in the 1st inning. (Contributed by @seanmacey13)

Buck Blunder 9 – Buck Martinez called Ryan Adams, Bryan Adams.. Multiple times!!! OMG! “Everything I do….. I do it for you”… He even called it on his walk off hit! (Contributed by @Shakes1, @TdotsFinest11, and @fukingconky)

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez was talking about how Johnny Damon was a bit of an iron man as he has a streak of 5 seasons of 140 games or more and he couldn’t think of others.. What about good old Cal Ripkin Jr. (Contributed by @RyanJBarbour)

Buck Blunder 2 – Bit of a grammar blunder here as Buck Martinez says “directory related” instead of “directly related”. (Contributed by @stevendavidson3)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez said that in the middle of the 5th inning, Wade Davis was trailing 5-2, when it was really 5-3 as Damon socked his 2nd homer of the night. (Contributed by @Shane_Zilbs)

Buck Blunder 4 – Buck Martinez screws up the pitching coach name again, only this time worse as he calls him “Phil Maddon”. (Contributed by @mattyjames1)

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez mentioned that the Rays have struggled to score runs in any series, but then he neglected this series where the Rays have spanked the Blue Jays for 25 runs before this game. (Contributed by @I_am_Tyril_)

Buck Blunder 6 – Buck Martinez said that Jose Bautista’s home run hit the 4th deck, but it hit the facing of the 3rd deck. (Contributed by @hollebrad and @Pooch_Chris)

BPA Stats Of The Week (Aug 22-28)

Bautista Protection Agency

Don’t know what BPA is? Check out the blog post here.

This week, the Blue Jays came back home for 3 against the Royals and Rays (though the Rays series is a 4 game set). Jose Bautista managed to stay healthy for this series, but was ejected in the first game of the Rays series when he was totally pissed off at the home plate umpire for a horrible strike zone. Bautista was throwing all his gear on the field and it was crazy as I witnessed this in the 2nd deck. All you heard was a loud bang as he slammed his bat against the wall and then boom… stuff starts going all over the place! Anyways, that cost Eric Thames 1 AB, but lucky for him, it was a strikeout. Yunel Escobar returned to the 2 spot for 2 games and let’s see how Thames and Escobar did.

Eric Thames

4 games
16 AB – .375/.375/.750 w/ 6 H, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 3 R, 0 BB, 2 K

Yunel Escobar

2 games
8 AB – .286/.375/.286 w/ 2 H, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K

Mr Nice Guy, Eric Thames bounced back from a terrible week with BPA, but Yunel Escobar just doesn’t see to have the groove when he’s batting in front of Bautista. Maybe he needs to bat there for a week to see. I much rather see Kelly Johnson hit leadoff.

The Blue Jays finish off the series with Tampa Bay on Monday and then it’s Baltimore and New York.

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez starts today off with a bold prediction. He said the Blue Jays were currently under .500, when they were an even .500. But as we all know now, the Blue Jays lost and are indeed below .500 now. (Contributed by @markchech)

Buck Blunder 2 – Buck Martinez pointed out that we all remember the 17 game strikeout that Morrow had over the Tampa Bay Rays.. I think he meant 17 strikeouts in that 1 hitter game. (Contributed by @mattyjames1)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez says that Kelly Johnson was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays! Whoops… (Contributed by @markchech and @thechadrsmith)

Buck Blunder 4 – Not sure what Buck Martinez wanted to say here, but he said that Yunel Escobar had 8 strikeouts in the game! WOW!!! (Contributed by @craiger1989, @jenn_halter, @PeteIsSudbury, @SoberInThe500s, and @paulmartino03)

Buck Blunder 5 – Can someone tell Buck Martinez that not every team starts with Tampa Bay. I believe he’s messed this up twice already. Like how he called them the Tampa Bay Mariners, now he’s calling them the Tampa Bay Diamondbacks! If you like Tampa Bay so much, why don’t you move there, marry it, and film a commercial like that Trident Layers gum! (Contributed by @ThekHocks, @craig_beauch, @etownbudsfan, @longley12, and @RyanJBarbour)

Buck Blunder 6 – Buck Martinez mentioned that after David Price struck out 12 batters, it matched his career totals… You mean career high Buck! Big diff! (Contributed by @RodRank)

Buck Blunder 9 – Buck Martinez called the Tampa Bay Rays pitching coach, Jim Hickey, Jim Henke. (Contributed by @blandy12)

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez starts it off with yet another Louie Perez call. Luis Perez is not a Louie or Louis! (Contributed by @RodRank and @coolhead2010)

Buck Blunder 2 – Buck Martinez was so confused today because Kelly Johnson and Elliot Johnson were both playing 2b. Buck Martinez at one time said that Kelly Johnson threw out Kelly Johnson :) AWESOME!!! This has to be one of the best blunders this season. (Contributed by @onebluejaysway, @GuzmansJhercurl, @ArmchairAnalyst, @King_Lime, and @HogtownHustle)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez said that Brett Lawrie had 4 Homeruns, but he has 5! (Contributed by @HogtownHustle, @andrewziedins, and @nearlydenzil)

Buck Blunder 4 – Buck Martinez said that after the Eric Thames home run, the Blue Jays were 1 run away from tying it, but they were 2. It wasn’t until Easy Eddie hit another solo jack that it was a 1 run lead. (Contributed by @PdashOW and @Jaret_Dezotell)

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez said that Jesse Litsch struck out Ben Zobrist with the bases loaded, but it was only 2 on. (Contributed by @craig_beauch)

Buck Blunder 6 – Buck Martinez mentioned that the Blue Jays wanted to limit Zobrist to 75 pitches.. I think he meant Luis Perez. (Contributed by E-mailer Jared A.)

Jose Bautista gets ejected from the game… And i was there to witness it… All in all, i believe the Umpire did expand his strike zone on a lot of Blue Jays hitters, esp the 1st AB by Bautista. That was a ball on the 3-2. There were a lot of Booo tonight! Thanks to @M_McConnell and @Clutch_21 for the youtube vid and @coolhead2010 for the sportsnet recap!

Buck Blunder 1 – Two Buck Blunders for the price of one. Buck Martinez called Tampa Bay, the Mariners, then the Devil Rays! (Contributed by @RyanJBarbour and @kjo19)

Buck Blunder 2 – Buck Martinez strikes again! Calling a changeup, a fastball as he called Alverez 2nd K a slider, fastball, slider, when it was a slider, changeup and slider. (Contributed by @nearlydenzil and E-mailer Jared A.)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez referred to Henderson Alverez as the batter and not the pitcher when he struck out someone. “What an At Bat for Henderson Alverez”, says Buck Martinez. (Contributed by @PeteIsSudbury)

Buck Blunder 4 – On a line drive to first that was called foul by the 1st base ump, Buck Martinez said that it wasn’t the 1st base umpire’s call, but the umpire’s call.. Which umpire BUCK!!!! You mean the Home Plate umpire that screwed us tonight! (Contributed by @jordangeville)

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez was talking about how the Yankees hit 3 Grand Slams in one game and that was a Yankee record. What he forgot to mention was that it was also an MLB record. (Contributed by @origmichael)

Buck Blunder 6 – “Jose Molina out to talk to Ledezmo”… Hey Buck Martinez, it’s Ledezma.. get your vowels correct! (Contributed by @needsanickname)

Buck Blunder 7 – E-Mailer Jared A. comes back and says that Buck Martinez called Bruce Walton, Chris again! Chris doesn’t have the same ring!

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez still thinks Jose Bautista is playing at 3rd because he said that Billy Butler hit one to the third baseman Jose Bautista… Brett “The Hitman” Lawrie is very upset right now. (Contributed by @TdotsFinest11, @jordangeville, and commenter Jared!)

Buck Blunder 2 – Kelly Johnson just joined the team and Buck Martinez already got his name wrong as he called him Carry Johnson. (Contributed by @KatiePammett)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez thinks that Jeff Francis has a very fast fastball saying it was a consistent 89-90, but @blandy12 gave me some stats that says Francis’s highest avg velocity was 87.9 in 04 and career avg is 86.7! Good job catching this blunder! (Contributed by @blandy12)

Buck Blunder 4 – Buck Martinez said that Giovatella scored the run, when he was the one who drove in the run! (Contributed by @jordangeville)

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez said that the Royals started off with a lead off double 3 out of the 4 innings, but the game was in the 6th inning! What happen to the other 2 innings Buck! (Contributed by @Alleycat17 and @etownbudsfan)

Buck Blunder 6 – Buck Martinez said that Yunel Escobar kept the inning alive by breaking up the double play on some good hustle… Too bad cause the inning had 0 outs when this happened. (Contributed by @TdotsFinest11 and @andythequizzer)

Buck Blunder 7 – And Finally, Buck Martinez called Pat Tabler, Scott… Maybe he thought Patty was Scott Carson! (Contributed by @Shakes1)

Not really a blunder, but @JoeTBFree said that Buck Martinez invented a new pitch… The “sinking changeup”… I think all changeups have sink cause they are generally slower… Unless it’s a Billy Koch changeup which might be faster than Jeff Francis’ fastball :p

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez said that Jose Bautista had a WHIP of 1.101. First of all, that’s not even a WHIP number cause they only count to 2 decimal places. Next Bautista is not a pitcher, but if he was a 1.10 WHIP is Roy Halladay like, and third, that was his OPS. (Contributed by @gosensgo101, @PdashOW, @Jays_GiantsFan, @Arock1234, @onebluejaysway, and @coolhead2010)

Buck Blunder 2 – Buck Martinez said that Henderson Alverez started in double A, but yes again, he started in A ball! (Contributed by @RyanJBarbour)

Buck Blunder 1 – Buck Martinez said Lind didn’t play yesterday. No Blue Jay played yesterday Buck as it was a day off! (Contributed by @sabin_karris)

Buck Blunder 2 – To continue Buck Blunder 1, Buck Martinez said that Lind got hit in the hand in a Saturday afternoon game, when it was more of an evening game since it was already 6pm in Oakland. Very debatable Blunder here. (Contributed by @rmatson37)

Buck Blunder 3 – Buck Martinez called Brett Lawrie, Brandon Lawrie… Whoops! (Contributed by @_skennedy)

Buck Blunder 4 – Buck Martinez fumbles his lines when he goes to Jaime and Gregg for a Connected Update.. He said… Jamie Campbell.. He’s got a broadcast… bahh.. He’s got an update! (Contributed by @stevendavidson3)

Buck Blunder 5 – Buck Martinez said that Luis Perez finished the game he pitched on Sunday.. He only pitched 6 innings. (Contributed by @stevendavidson3)

Buck Blunder 6 – Buck Martinez said that Greg Holland was making his 34th appearance in this game. He always does this! Need to say season Buck! SEASON!!!! (Contributed by @coolhead2010, @kjo19, and @origmichael)

Buck Blunder 7 – Buck Martinez said that Jeff Francouer forgot to renew his passport and he was able to get it in the same day if he had an international flight within 2 weeks. A tweeter says that’s not true as it is less than 48 hours! (Contributed by @krystalocean)
